Information NOCTI collects

NOCTI may collect account information such as email address, display name, role, profile preferences, and authentication data. Providers may also submit professional listing information, contact details, service descriptions, and photos.

Location and search

If you choose “Use my location,” your browser may provide approximate latitude and longitude so NOCTI can rank professional services near you. Location permission is optional. Search may also work from terms such as a city, ZIP code, or service name.

Third-party place data

NOCTI may use Google Maps Platform services to return nearby business or place information. Content identified as Google Maps content is provided under Google's applicable terms and privacy practices. NOCTI does not treat third-party place content as a claimed NOCTI provider profile unless a provider submits and passes NOCTI review.

How information is used

Information is used to authenticate accounts, operate provider listings, personalize saved favorites, moderate content, prevent abuse, maintain security, improve directory performance, return relevant local search results, and communicate about account or platform activity.

Public provider information

Information intentionally submitted for an approved provider listing may be publicly visible, including display name, profile text, approved photos, service information, location, and provider-selected contact methods.

Service providers

NOCTI relies on infrastructure and technology vendors to operate the service, including hosting, database, authentication, storage, local-search, security, analytics, and email-delivery providers. These vendors may process information as needed to provide those services.

Favorites and private account data

Saved favorites and non-public account information are intended to remain account-scoped and are protected through authentication and database access controls.

Private messages and safety reports

Private messages are available to the participants and are not open to routine staff browsing. If a participant submits a safety report, authorized staff may review the reported conversation to investigate abuse, enforce platform rules, protect users, or respond to legal obligations. Staff access is restricted to open safety reports and recorded in an audit log.

Retention and deletion

NOCTI retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, maintain security and audit records, resolve disputes, and meet applicable obligations. Account or deletion requests may be subject to limited retention where records must be preserved for security, fraud prevention, or legal reasons.

Your choices

Users may request access, correction, or deletion of eligible personal information and may update information available through their account. Privacy rights can vary by location and may be subject to exceptions under applicable law.

Security

NOCTI uses technical and organizational safeguards including authentication, row-level database access controls, moderation controls, and restricted access to private provider-photo storage. No online system can guarantee absolute security.

Contact

Privacy requests should be submitted through the official privacy or support contact method published by NOCTI.
