One livestream, two words—and a huge account disappears
Canadian creator Jake Andrich, known online as Jakipz, had more than 14 million TikTok followers before his account became unavailable. Attitude and PinkNews reported the disappearance on September 4 after clips from a livestream sparked a wave of criticism. During the stream, a viewer asked whether he supported LGBTQ+ people. His answer—“Not in particular”—quickly became the center of the controversy.
Why the reaction was so intense
The response landed especially hard because Andrich has built a substantial following among gay and bisexual men. Fellow creator Timothy Champagne argued publicly that queer viewers appear to make up a major part of Andrich’s audience.
