Move · Costa Mesa · Checked November 2, 2026

Gyms, personal trainers and jiu-jitsu in Costa Mesa. Free trials first, contracts later.

Short answer: Costa Mesa is a jiu-jitsu town, and three schools let you roll your first class for free. Gracie Barra Costa Mesa, Praia BJJ and AOJ Costa Mesa each offer a free first or trial class, and CrossFit Costa Mesa offers a free first week with no credit card. For one-on-one training, Bodybuzz publishes a $60 intro session and $160 single sessions.

Between the Newport Blvd gym crowd and the Logan Ave grapplers, there is a lot of choice and not a lot of published prices. Here is what each place says in public, so you can try before anyone asks for your card.
